Where to put / how to wire speakers...

Found a set of 9x6x3.5 Sony Speakers in my garage... my grandpa had em and gave em to me

Just wondering where I should put them (in the door... etc) but don't have very much experience in wiring car speakers. For example, there is a weird connector shown that i have never seen before, and I don't know what exactly it is... or really, what i should buy to connect to it.

Anyways, personal stories are always allowed, personal experience with these speakers (doubtful) or any others is also welcome

And of course, pictures!!!

yes, that is a cat on my couch

Those are not Sony speakers, they are Ford speakers with Sony grilles. Anyways, is your truck a standard cab or xtra cab? If it's a standard cab then I would say mount them in the lower front portion of the doors or in a 6x9 speaker box behind the seat, xtra cab, then you can mount them in the rear side storage compartments. That connector is for a Ford type connector to plug into it. Just use some spade connectors or solder them.

Yeah doors would be a good spot. They have some weird harness on them you can take one in to Radio Shack and find some female connectors that fit the prongs on the harness or solder the wires right to the unit.

Other than that it's pretty straight forward just hook the two wires up

thanks. I went looking at walmart / longs and they didn't have any connectors in their audio section or auto audio section. I might be able to just cut the connector off and solder the wires together.

Under the stick you wouldnt get the stereo sound ...hmmm....oh, and sometimes if you dont mount them in the doors right the window wont roll down...just make sure you get them far enough foward if you do go that route...also if you have the hornet window thing its not a problem...

id just throw those old things away and go buy some 2 way 6.5 or 6x9 speakers to put in the doors. your not going to get very good sound out of the paper factory ford speakers.
