Weird Brake pedal & Steering Issues
Weird brake pedal & steering wheel Issue
I have a 95 4runner 3.0 4x4 automatic just turned 179,000 miles
here is what is weird....when I push the brake pedal to the floor and hold it there and turn the steering wheel full left and full right, the brake pedal moves up and down.It feels like it's pulsating when turning the steering wheel at even short quick turns (all this while sitting still engine running at idle)
when I turn the steering wheel the idle goes up and when I return it to normal position
the idle goes back down...I would like to know if this is normal?
.....
thanks for any input on this matter..

I have found out that the ABS and the PS work together? so maybe I have air in my brake lines?....my PS fluid is within range on the dip stick
how can 1 person ME:
properly bleed the brakes?..I have a bleeder kit but it doesn't work vary good
how are the ABS & PS linked together?...and how does it work...I'm asking because I only have rear ABS on my 4runner, so maybe something is going on with my rear brakes and brake padle pulsating linked together?

The PS and ABS don't work together (linked together), but it sounds like when you turn the wheel and press the brakes the ABS is coming on. So the question is why? ABS turns on when it thinks the wheels are not rotating (which would indicate the brakes had locked up). If you had air in the brake lines your pedal would be squishy and if you used your brakes enough would eventually just go to the floor. Have you taken the wheels off and looked at the brakes? This sounds like something is up with the brake pads or the ability of one/all of the brakes to function properly, since the ABS thinks it needs to get involved.
The other possibility is that your rotors are warped and when you turn the wheel you are getting feedback though the steering wheel. If that was the case though you would probably feel the pulse when braking and going straight ahead as well. How are those rotors?

PCE91V64x4 ....I think your on to something here...when I drive the 4runner to and from work 50 miles round trip
I can feel like the 4runner is loosing power along the way, so may the rear ABS is acting up and causing the shoes to press against the drums?....but I can't smell any burning brake shoes...
I have new rotors, pads, shoes also 1 new drum ...but I don't think my self adjusting system is working properly either...snd maybe the vibrations I have had for a long time is part of this issue? just guessing
can I disconnect the ABS to know if it affects what is going on?
