Can a g52 replace my l 45

Can a g52 replace my l 45 without any major alteration this would go on my 82 toyota

Depends on what you mean by "major". I've heard different things, but what I know is that it will bolt right up to the engine. But it is longer than your current transmission. If mods are needed, the most it will be is: lengthening the front driveshaft. shortening the rear d-shaft. moving the t-case crossmember back. cutting the floorboards of the cab a little bit because everything's a bit farther back, including the gear shifters.

I don't think any of those are major mods, just kind of "make it fit" mods. If you're handy they can all be done at home. I would think the d-shaft mods are the worst part of it.
