Hey guys,
Never installed a clutch on a toyota before. Wanted to know any and all advice/instructions anyone could offer. Thanks in advance.

Have you ever done a clutch on any other vehicle? Replace both the throw-out and pilot bearings while you're in there, and have the flywheel resurfaced so the new disc doesn't chatter. Good time to flush the hydraulic system as well, and be prepared to replace the slave if it starts to leak after the new clutch.

I have done a clutch install on a ford ranger six cylinder. The only major difference is that it was not four wheel drive. The only problem I ran into was the quick disconnect for the hydrolic line. I didn't know it was a quick disconnect and I cut it. So.......I don't want to make any stupid mistakes on this one that make my job harder. I appreciate the response.

Don't have to disconnect the slave cylinder at all for this one, just remove the bolts so you can push it out of the way.

Do I drop the rear driveshaft first, then unbolt the transfer case? Do I have to drop the front driveshaft? Do I have to unbolt the t-case from the crossmember? I have a bunch of questions. I really appreciate your help.

Remove both driveshafts, secure tranny jack, unbolt crossmember from frame (can leave connected to transmission) and lower tranny so you can get to the top two bellhousing bolts first. You'll need a couple long extensions to reach them, then remove the remaining bolts and remove the transmission. No need to drain oil or seperate the transfer case, but you'll want to remove the shifters before starting.

Leave the transfer case and tranny bolted together. The balance point is way back - I usually get the jack under the transfer case and have a friend lower the jack while I lower the front of the tranny bench press style. The tranny/transfer combo is a heavy mother so take all precautions.
