Uhwarrie Trip

First and foremost:

Thanks to everyone who came out! Morgan and I had a great time w/ all you guys! We're only sorry we couldn't all make it a full weekend. We definitely need to get on the ball and make it out there some time soon again to run more trails! It was a pleasure meeting everyone of you guys.

I have to say, you guys took hold of a HUGE learning curve, and by the end of Daniel, most of you were turning into VERY successful spotters. Congrats and my hats off to you all!

Next time we're there, we'll do Dicky Bell and Dutch John... maybe Rocky Mount up the hard way, and Daniel up the hard way.

IMPORTANT:

Next trip up, let's all try to have actual CB's. They're only $40-100 @ your local Radio Shack/Truck stop... much better and much longer range than those 2-way jobs.

We saw humping crickets, winching Jeeps, lot's of flex, lot's of great scenery, and lot's of wheelin'. (our favorite)

Next time you guys need to bring more girls... seriously... Morgan had a great time, but we look even more pimp w/ more women... he he he. Imagine the pictures w/ hot girls and cool trucks...

All in all, a great time... I'm terrible w/ names though, so please post and remind me who you are! Thanks for a great time guys! See my post about the Fall Colors Ride upcoming!

It was a blast. I have now learned the limits, or lack there of, of my 4runner. I appreciate all of the helpful hints and spotters we had throughout the trip. Hats off to you guys.

Yeah I had an amazing time this weekend, the weather was perfect, and the people were even better than that. So thanks to EVERYONE for being there and making such a ride possible. I say we pick a weekend in late Sept. or early Oct before it closes and go again I would love to do what Jason said and ride some of those trails UP.

Thanks Jason for the spotting and knoledge of the trails, also or all the encouraging words, if you coudn't tell I was really aprehensive starting out , but aftr a few confident inspiring(sp) climbs and some good words I gotaltmore comfortable. Good to meet everyone and finlly get some names and faces together, even though I'm still struggling on a few of them , sorry there was just way to many, I got most of the drivers and memebers down, that's the important part.

Let's get on the ball with figuring out a date to run to Uhwarrie again, preferrably before the end of Sept. The weekend of the 20th is no good for me. The first week of October, 1st -7th is also no good. Ideally before the end of Sept, and/or after October 7th, but before mid-October, b/c that's when we need to plan our Tellico run to co-ordinate w/ the fall colors. So... any ideas? Sorry if that got confusing!

Oh, and everyone PLEASE try to get a CB so we can communicate better!

Or "family band" radios. Thats what we used, and they work flawlessly. I have three, but seeing as I'm in GA right now I can't really help you guys there. Sounds like you guys had a blast, and I'm glad to see we have (or started to) convert some n00bs into some off-road'n feinds

motorolas work fine but cbs work better plus other 4x4 clubs use them. I finally got my cb working again so I'm all set. Got it at bestbuy for $50. Its the very small one and fits in the dashboard nicely under the stereo. I dont know how well they fit in a 4runner but I highly recommend everyone have at least a portable cb.
Had a terrific time on the last trip. Looking forward to the next one.

Dang if CBs are that cheep I might just take a mall chunck ut of my bonus check I'm getting on Sunday and get me a CB. That bonus is also going towards the "Get Scott's A$$ Off of Stock Radials" fund. I need me some MT/Rs, slipping off of rocks and towards trees was one of those scares I can only take once in awhile. No custom tree mod for me yet, I at least need to own more of my truck than the bank does before I go adding that to my sig.

If you're in need of MT/R's , let me know... my buddy here in Raleigh is the district manager for Just Tires.

Oh man, Jason I might just be asking you about that connection before we head out for Fall Colors. Right now the internet has the best prices($154 for 285's @ Tire Rack) but if your friend could help me out or at least get somewhere near that price then it would save me on shipping those monster. I'll let you know the closer I get to a good tre fund. Thanks
