newbie with oil question

Hi, been snooping around for a couple of days and would like to say that I am enjoying the forum.
My 4 runner: I have a 95 4runner, 3.0 v6, automatic 2wd 135k miles with 31" tires (did not change the gear ratio) and K&N air filter kit. will be adding a cat back exhaust soon.
My question: I've been using castrol syntech 10w-30 since I've bought the truck with about 50K miles, I chang the oil every 4500 to 5500 miles, in-between the oil changes the truck uses about 1.5 quarts. Is this considered normal use? I've been considering using regular sae-30 oil ( I live in south florida, so only concerned about cold weather for about 3 weeks a year). Any comments suggestions are appreciated. Also, any suggestions for a cat back exhaust , budget of around $400. thanks

hi 10w-30 oil is what I use (castrol gtx) and that should be fine for you to. and for the exhaust I'd personaly go with the borla exhaust system ( cat back ) it'll sound awsome. Thats what I plan on getting after new 31 bfg at's, just my 2 cents
