I just got home with my 88 after the dealership did a head gasket job. First impressions, its about the same as before ... It does seem to have a little better throttle response. They changed the T belt and tensioner, gaskets, cleaned the valves and piston tops, new pcv valve and new plug wires.... I do feel like they could have bought me a beer before telling me that the price went from $1450 to $1750 with the addition of the tensioiner pulley $200, and the plug wires etc. gotta love that but its running great! They did put regular oil and a Toyota filter on it, Ive been running Mobil One and M1-102 filters for YEARS, how long should I run it before I switch back to synthetic or should i just go ahead and change it out tomorrow? Now I want to see if Bilstien makes front shocks that fit a Samurai, and if so Im going to order a set of them and a set for the rear and get some new either 31" Revos or BFG AT's, not sure which ones just yet, I wish Costco still sold Revos!!!
