88 4runner grab handle installation?

I got 3 grab handles out of a junk 4Runner. The back top on mine doesn't have grab handles so I am going to put some in. I took the plastic circles off of where the grab handles should screw in but there are what looks like rivets in the holes already. Should I try to pull them out, or should I drill them out?

And on the drivers side there are mounts right? You just need to make a hole in the headliner after you find them?

The front drivers side went in like nothing. I moved the screwdriver in the approxamate area of the holes and when it sunk in I knew where the holes were.

In the back it's like screwing sheetrock screws in to sheetrock. I just pushed the rivets in, and then put the screws in. It's a lot easier getting in the back seat now. Still a pain in the ass getting out.
