The engine in my truck has been making this awfull ticking noise around the drivers side of the engine. I recently had the engine replace and I actually ran the new one hot due the radiator drain valve not being properly tightened. This resulted to an oil leak which I then fixed by replacing the crank seal. I think the truck had this tick before I ran it hot although it has gotten me kinda paranoid that I may have damaged something. The engine runs strong for its milage, but Ive noticed it kinda wants to hesitate when giving gas in first gear, but when it kicks in it wants to go. This could be from it sitting weeks without cranking. As for the ticking I have no idea what it could be. Also I just replaced the battery and the truck is idling around 1400 rpms, around 1500 when cranked.

I just remembered when I had my timing cover off and I could hear the ticking coming from what seemed like the one of the top cams. Is this normal?

could it be a bad fuel injector? If so how would I figure out which one?
