Antenna cable removel from cd player

I had a cd player installed when i got this 4runner, i need to to replace the power antenna kit which i already have, the only problem i see is getting the old antenna cable removed from the back of the cd player so i can plug my new antenna cable in. Can this be done without removing the stereo itself

I just went out and checked. I can reach the cable from the side without removing the stereo. You didn't mention the year and make you are working with. I've got an 87 4Runner. It's just a push in cable, nothing hard at all.

95 4runner 4wd v6: from under the wheelwell i can see where the cable goes in but when i look under the passanger dash area it just seems all congested, can't get my hands anywhere near the back of the stereo, if i could just find the plug i'd route it anywhere but can't seem to find the connection...

If i'm understanding correctly the push in plug you mentioned is a push in plug to the back of the stereo itself or is there a cable coming off the back of the stereo it plugs into?

can you remove the cd player? its a pretty simple task, just remove the dash and you should see 4 bolts holding the new cd player in place if you remove those 4 bolts you should be able to have enough play in the wires to reach the back of the unit and unplug the old and plug back in the new antenna.

i'll try the dash removal, is that involve pulling apart plastic snap peices, i'm famous for breaking them off when pulling dash parts off, unless there is an easier way...

No, there's not really any easier way. Just take your time and stay patient. That's the only trick I've ever learned.
