Solid axle hub/caliper questions

Excuse me if these are stupid questions, I'm not a toyota 4x4 guy.

I need some opinions/suggestions on where to find some parts that will fit on toyota straight axle snouts and also which ones will work.

I need to locate hubs. Will IFS style hubs work? Are some hubs stronger than others? Where can I find 'em.

I need calipers and rotors. Will these work? Are those the best factory calipers? Which rotors could I run?

Thanks

i beleive ifs calipers and rotors are a upgrade because they are slotted.. also i remember reading aboyut people using ifs spindles instead of wheel spacers?? that might be hogwash as i dont have a s.a yota "yet"
but as far as the lock outs.. they need to be from a solid axle truck or you have to buy the gears from bobby long then you can change your ifs to them.. but the spline count is different ifs to solid axle

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not running 4WD (or a solid axle), only the snouts.

So I might be able to use IFS hubs/calipers/rotors... if I can, are the hubs any better than the SA hubs?

Also I may be getting the terms confused, when I say "hub" I mean the unit that has the wheel studs and houses the bearings... not the locking portion of it.

Wheel hub. Manual hub.

Some explanation of what you are trying to do would yield some more specific advice.

Alrighty.

I want to bolt wheels and tires to these: (Snouts are from an 84 straight axle toyota pickup/4runner)

They are set up for OEM parts (calipers, rotors, hubs), I'm just unsure if I can use IFS wheels hubs.

What kind of wheel hubs will work with those. At the junkyard, can I only get hubs off a S.A. truck? Can I order wheel hubs online somewhere?

I found those V6 IFS calipers, they say it's an upgrade, so I was wondering if IFS hubs would fit and if they are "better".

Thanks

That would be a spindle. If that spindle is off an '84 (solid axle) truck, may as well grab a solid axle wheel hub and assorted parts. Or contact whomever you purchased that setup from and ask them what you need. The IFS wheel hubs have a slightly different offset than the solid axle wheel hubs from what I understand, since you need to run a spacer kit with IFS wheel hubs to fit them on a solid axle spindle:

The spindle is fully fabricated using S.A. snouts, the company that makes them calls for IFS calipers and rotors, but does not specify which type of wheel hub.

So I'll go with S.A. wheel hubs, IFS V6 Calipers and FJ-60 vented rotors.

Thanks for the help.
