Anyone know the dimensions on the idler arm bushings on 93 4wd?

I ordered a set of idler arm bushings from the local parts house and it turned out to be plastic (qty one). Now I'm wondering if it is even the right dimension. Does anybody know the proper dimensions for the bushings? I have a metric source for bronze bushings and might be able to come up with some that will suit me better. I plan to hopefully disassemble it this coming Sunday and either machine out the bronze ones I guessed were close or measure and order the right ones from the metric supplier. I was just hoping to be able to have the proper ones there so I just do the job once.

Plastic is what comes from the factory, as well. So, no issue there. But, I can get the dimensions for you later today. I have a kit.....just waiting for the time to go in and R/R the bugger.

I believe by 1993 it was the thicker of the two idler arm shafts, but that doesn't help you if you're looking for a numerical value. The Beck Arnley OEM replacement bushing is meant for the later idler arm (fatter) if they still only have one part # for all years.

The one they got me was a Beck Arnley for a RWD 93 Toyota pickup, not AWD. There was no option for 4WD. Maybe the dimensions on it are correct, that's what I measured but since I got only one. I thought it might be wrong since they sent me only one and the truck requires two. The Beck Arnley book called out only one bushing.

Thanks for the responses and the dimensions would be greatly appreciated.

Just an FYI, the time I got them from the local dealership, they only ordered one. They are only used to replacing the whole thing.

Apparently, there are a number of different inner and outer diameters. Regardless, the plastic ones are junk IMHO.

www.custommachiningusa.com has one version on sale - they may or may not fit and require machining (mine did) - or you can send your idler to them and they will make them fit for no extra charge.

SDORI (elripster on here) is planning on making a set for sale too

I'm testing the SDORI ones right now.

Like TC said, the hard part is all the different ID and OD dimensions out there.

The other thing is that many people don't know if they have an OEM arm or not since they are not the original owner. This makes it hard to know which sizes to make.

You could always order another plastic one and that will hold you till get some bronze ones. The idler is pretty easy to take on and off, I've done it a few times now, lol

I rednecked the bronze bushings with my drill press. I reamed the inside diameter to .765 and I chucked it up in my drill press and used a file on the od til it fight tight in the housing. I cut a lube groove in them too with a carbide burr. The truck drives nice now. I also discovered I didn't have bad u joints in the rear shaft, the pinion flange the u-joint bolts to was loose and it was wobbling. I tightened it just shy of turning the differential and staked it in place. No more of the bad noises or vibrations.
