Recently delved into the idea of a JDM inclinometer for my 'Runner, leads me to wonder what other parts may be across the pond that we didn't get here. Most of my buddies didn't even KNOW 2nd gens had an inclinometer. What else is there? I love having hard-to-find options.

I saw a "JDM" bumper along with integrated driving lights on eBay one time. Not sure if they were OEM.

I met someone with a JDM Surf and had a look underneath. There was a sticker on the rear axle that clearly said in bold red letters "LSD". I can only assume that as a limited slip, and it would make sense to put a sticker on the axle so limited slip additive would be added when servicing. Anyone able to confirm or deny that there was a limited slip option for 2nd Gen Hilux Surfs?

Yeah, I read somewhere earlier today, that a good number of the overseas Yotas came with LSD's.

Say, what does the "SSR-X" mean/stand for?

The Surf my diesel came from had an LSD in it. But sadly I only got the front axle from it and not the rear differential.

You can find the "JDM" flares on some CDN 2nd gen 4Runners along with the molded 3rd brake light spoiler.

wasn't there some weird 'solid axle' option that people in the USA didn't need, or maybe we didn't want...? wasn't that in there somewhere?

SSR-X is a trim level more or less equal to an SR-5

some other options included a "field monitor" [an electronic compass thingy there are threads about them here]
depending on the year/market either solid orange front corner lenses [jdm] or lens with integrated turn signal repeaters, or front fender mounted turn signal repeaters[euro/aussie].
various styles of factory "bull bars"
factory vent visors
some markets got factory installed emergency kits,

I was looking up pics of JDM Surfs, and the spoiler for the third brake light is really attractive. Thinking about getting one. =D

You can get the flares and 3rd brake light off of the Medallist ed. 4Runners.
