cutting the manifold

well... looks like i REALLY SCREWED MYSELF!

the carb i got on craigslist dosent fit my application. i think the only way it can fit is if i cut my manifold

mine is currently like this
http://www.toyheadauto.com/Performan...keManifold.JPG

look where the carb would bolt on and notice the metal seperating the two holes

and i need it cut dueto the butterfly vents or whatever hitting the metal when throttle is applied

is this what i have to do?

i have a 87 22r and am trying to put on a weber 32/36 that seems to be for earlier model 22rs
so to cut im assuming i need to take the manifold off... or how much would the correct manifold cost me?

im really a wreck right now and stressing like crazy. please help a troubled soul

Parker

I cut mine out, but... look on summit racing for the Trans-Dapt adapter. It is far superior to the Weber adapter.

I LOVE YOU!

hahahahaha thank you so much. i saw adapters on LCEngineering but i thought they were just gaskets and i wasnt quite comprehending how an adapter would work. but i see it lifts up the carb and funnels it into the holes and is open so the butterflies dont hit it. Genius my friend genius. 1000 internets to you!
