Can someone verify the correct part number for OEM front brake pads for a 02 4Runner SE (16" wheel). Looking to do the brakes this weekend and I want to make sure I have the correct parts.

The part number I have is 04465-35240. The dealership said there was only one part number listed for the 2002 even with the 2 different wheel sizes.

The brake pads are the same 15" or 16"

 

The rotors and calipers have different part numbers but the pads have the same part number you listed for both 15 and 16"

I have 15" wheels and thought I was missing out on some braking power compared to 16" but with the same pads can't be that much difference.

Just give them your vin to make sure. How much do they charge?

 

note that there is also a factory "upgrade" pad-which I have as part #04465-35240


Cost a bit more-but not much and excellent stopping power.

note Redfusion notified me this is the part number for normal replacement pads.....I am making a guess that this part may have been the upgrade pad for earlier Runners and ended up being the "stock" replacement pad for later model years.

 

Thanks for the replies...everything fit as expected, and the install went smoothly thanks to the write-ups on this site and others.

Stopping power with brembo blanks and the OEM pads is great. No more warped OEM rotors and bleeding the brakes have made a huge difference. Lots of dark fluid came out. Like others have suggested, I opened the bleed valve while pressing out the pistons...worked like a charm.

The pads from the stealership cost ~$72 -- a little high IMO -- but I needed them that day and did not have the time to order them online. A number of members have posted websites where you can purchase discount OEM parts.

How much were the Brembo blanks?
There's been quite a few references on this site to a Hawk pads and rotor upgrade for 3rd gen runners.
I'm ready to do ti but I'm foggy on the Rotor brand recommened.

Is standard brake fluid recommended?
