Why does my truck not idle?

I have an 89 pickup 4x4 with a 22RE. Its a 5 spd. Recently, while driving to work, it has been dying any time I dont have my foot on the gas. I adjusted the idle, which works until the truck is warmed up, then it does the same thing again. At the same time this started, I noticed a clicking sound coming from just behind the dash on the passenger side. It makes a click when I push on the gas, then makes another click when I release the gas. Does anyone know what the heck is going on with my baby?
Thank you

Check for a vacuum leak or a cracked, loose, or disconnected intake hose.

Figured it out

The idle adjustment screw on the throttle body has an o-ring on it so that it stays where you put it. My o-ring is totally shot. So as I was driving, the screw would giggle and screw itself in more, throwing the idle off.
