turn signal comes on when brake pushed, Help!

When I push the brake pedal, the left turn signal comes on and the dash lights have a slight glow. Any Ideas?

you: "Da-da-da..im just driving...oh! A rabbit in the road, i better slow down"*steps on brakes*
Person behind you: "WTF is this crazy person doing? Theres no where to turn on this road?! AARRGGG"*crash*

Maybe a short between the turn signal and the brake wires. maybe the bulb housings were accidently switched around....is it actually blinking? or just a constant light?..

trailer lights. Toyotas use a system where there is separate brake lights and turn indicators, trailers do not. Somebody tries too hook them up without using a little box for that purpose, and it ends up connecting all the lights together.

Look for (and re-do if needed) trailer-lights.

I see a 2wd 3rd gen that has the same problem. Everytime he steps on the brakes his passenger side turn signal (front and rear) goes on solid.

My girlfriends does it intermittedly in wet weather...

We bug cars and trucks at work to do similar things for the students to find. Sometimes its a missing ground, but most often it is a shorted bulb. This, however, is done on vehicles without independent turn signals. I wouldn't rule out a ground, but the trailer wiring sounds like a good place to start. It is also possible that it is in the combination switch on the steering column, but I'd need to look at a wiring diagram to see if the brakes even run through that switch.

You have a bad ground at your taillights. Take out the taillights and look for a broken ground or a corroded socket.

This may be a little late for you, but, maybe it'll help someone else.I have found light bulbs with a very small thread of lead connecting both contacts and when I put the signal on every marker and clearance light flashed like a signal. It is a good thing to remember.
