Will a Jardine Tacoma Catback Exhaust work on my 98 4Runner 4x4?

I recently contacted Jardine exhaust to purchase the #89215 exhaust system for my 4Runner 4x4 to find out that they are discontinued! I then contacted URD and they told me that they can sell me exhaust #89217 which is designed for a 95-99 Tacoma Extra Cab/Short bed/2wd. URD stated that this exhaust is very similar to the one for my 4Runner, but that I would have to do some modifications to make it fit correctly. URD wasn't able to tell me exactly what kind of mods would be required. Is anybody familiar with the two different exhausts setups to tell me what kind of mods would be needed to make exhaust #89217 fit on my runner and if it's worth my time?

I would imagine an exhaust shop would have to redo the exhaust pipe to make sure everything clears . So you'd be paying for a full system and really only getting the muffler and tip out of it and have to pay a shop to replumb it. I would find just the muffler and tip if you can get those separatly and have a shop put it on. My .02

I have the Jardine kit and have been pretty happy with it so far. But, it's to the point now where constantly listening to the drone is getting to me...especially on longer trips. I'd take your rig to the local exhaust shop and have them do a complete system for you. The cost would probably be about the same, but you'd have a much larger selection of mufflers to choose from.

and if a shop does it, it will be welded. not sure if you were gonna do that to the jardine or not. id take it to a shop. i was quoted 550 the other day for magnaflow muffler, 2.5 inches out to dual 3.5 inch stainelss rolled tips. so, if you didnt want the rolled tips, lookin at like 150 cheaper too. my shop welds the whole thing and uses aluminized tubing. the magnaflow is stainless. will last forever and sound great. all installed for about what youd pay for a bolt on system that you have to install yourself. he said it would be an hour or so to do mine. cant beat that.
