need to fix my horn ( please, no jokes)
well my horn is bad and will only work when the steering wheel is turned to the left. i was told i was some contact thing and i tried to find it but i got stuck. i got the bad off, the horn brackets and the steering wheel nut but i couldnt get the wheel off. what am i missing? how would i fix this, its just annoying when i cant honk at people driving like jacka!@es

You don't have to use a puller on toyota steering wheels. Just wiggle firmly back and forth, and the steering wheel will pop off.

My friend back in high school did that. He was a big guy, he thought he could get it off. Started to really get in to it then WACK. lol.

cracked distributor on a 79 camaro..... sat in rain all night.... next day dad trying to start it.... told me not to touch anything.... hand on distributor right as it fired up..... = my 14yo ass tossed 6 feet back by the shock of my life....

The steering wheel has a brass ring on the back of it, and the horn contact is a brass spring loaded pin. (so it is on my 88). You may be able to see the contact point by removing the steering column trim without removing the wheel. If the spring gets gummed up, it doesn't keep constant contact with the ring as you turn the wheel. Sometimes the grease they put on the ring gets a little dust gummed and causes contact loss too.
If you don't have a steering wheel press, you can try a rubber mallet to the back of the wheel. I was able to simulate a press by using a piece of metal with holes about where the threaded holes in the wheel are, on either side of the nut. put a couple metric bolts in there and tighten, and it pulls the wheel up and off.
