I have a 94 4runner and my doors have been locking and unlocking themselves lately. so i disconnected the drivers side door lock/window controls and it still did it. then i disconnected the passenger side door lock and it still did it. then i was getting confused so i just disconnected both of them and let it sit but its still locking and unlock themselves. also if i have one of the switches connected and try to lock the doors it doesn't lock only unlocks. any thoughts? thanks

 

this sounds dumb, but are the keys in the ignition?
mine wont lock the doors if the key is in the ignition at all...
if not, then maybe thats the place you should start...

 

If it constantly tries to lock and unlock itself, the door control unit has likely failed.

 

with the keys in the ignition, out, car no, car off. ignition in acc position or what ever it say. can't get it to lock.
