86-89 lifts?

What are your goal(s) for the lift?
Is it for looks, room for larger tires (if so how large), longer travel for pre-running, type of terrain, etc.?
A few options:
One is a full 4" lift, drop backets for the front blocks/shackles/springs for the back, many vendors.
Second is a body lift, 1"-3" typical, more info:

Or third, you can do a small amount of lift in stock form, crank up the torsion bars, add a longer shackle or add-a-leaf in back for an inch or two.

Id be interested in the same information. I know that I could put a body lift on it, but don't know if that's what I'm looking for. I'm assuming that even installing a suspension lift will not improve the articulation of the front IFS, which would lean me towards the bodylift a little more.

Unless you install one of the long travel kits, you won't get much more flex out of your stock suspension. You can do a little with cutting down the bump stops, etc. Again it all depends on your plans for the truck, size of tires, type of terrain, etc. For 33s (which is a very popular tire size) a 1" body lift, cranking up the torsion bars about an inch in front and a 1" shackle lift in back is a good combination, as pictured below:
