Mud flap predicament *pics*

So I was out wheeling last week and lost my front-right mudflap because it was tearing and I forgot about it when I had to go in reverse for .5 km or .33 miles. I went out and bought some universal mudflaps but of course the crazy mounting positions on the original don't even come close. So I'll need to rig these up so I can have them properly fit, otherwise I'm sure they will just get ripped off again. What sort of hardware can I buy to put on the new flaps?

Actually I went out today and brought the old and new mudflap to the store. I bought some 'mending plates' and a couple small screws, bolts and washers. I bent a couple of the plates to match up with the factory bolt holes. I will take some pictures when I get them mounted (tomorrow hopefully). I sprayed the hardware black and I think it looks pretty good. By the way I'm not even sure what the laws are here in Ontario but I prefer to have the flaps on to reduce spray etc.. I've already noticed the spray from mud etc has vastly increased without the flaps on.
