Hey, I posted this in the tires/wheels section but thought I would send this over to the experts. I have a 1996 Tacoma V6 5-speed with a K&N air intake, High-Flow Cat, and flowmaster exhaust w/ stock gearing. I have a 2" Pro Comp body lift and 3" Skyjacker suspension lift. (struts in the front/add-a-leaf in rear) Also, had extended Skyjacker rear shocks. I currently have 32x11.50 Maxxis Bighorn tires but they look pretty small now. What tire size should I go now with the new lift? Most times during the year it is a pavement pounder (IM in college) the rest of the year is up at my house where I get quite a bit of snow. Could I fit a skinny 35"? etc Any info will be greatly appreciated Thanks from the long-time newb

 

Keep gearing in mind. You move up to 35's your gonna be pissed at the power and MPG. Since your in college i would imagine that MPG's are important. (Every penny counts)

Yeah thats true. Does anybody know if the make a 33.5 or 34" tire? That sounds to be just right...

 

295/75/16 is about a 33.5 inch tire. I know BFG, nitto and maybe a couple other companies make them

TSL SSR radials and Truxus MT's come in a 34" size or a 35x10.5".....33x12.5 would also be alright.

 

I might go with some Micky Thompson Baka Claws. i was looking at there website and each tire seems to be about an inch to inch and a half smaller that they say. For instant, a 35" tire runs at 34.1 diameter etc. They're just kinda pricy though

Totally off subject....but lowmans1966 don't ever do what you're doing in your avator picture anymore...thats not safe wheeling. It may have been stable at the time but something could happen. No one wants to hear a story of someone getting a vehicle rolled on top of them while out on the trail. 4wheeling is looked down upon enough as it is.

With 35's, how bad would it effect power? My Tacoma has tons of power now with my 32" Bighorn. (I know there only an inch bigger but they are A LOT heavier that the OEM ones...they're 7ply) My speedometer is also spot on right now...maybe the 33's are the way to go then. Sorry, very torn subject for me

 

The added weight of the tire will also make a difference. Even going up to a 33 you will feel a difference. Go to a 35 without regearing and you will have very poor performance.
