Trying to decide between Allpro sliders or Stubbs HD SKO. Allpro is less expensive by about 60 bucks. Both use .120 wall tubing. Difference being diameter. 2" inner and 1.75" outer on Allpro and 1.75" inner and outer on Stubbs. I know from reading posts around here Richard and his products rock but saving money these days is top priority.

And I like Stubbs but haven't tried the other.

I have Stubbs' standard which are "only" 1.5 inch and they have taken a beating and keep coming back for more. At 1.75 inch you should be golden and Richard was great to work with.

 

I can vouche for the stubbs sliders I had them on my last 4runner and they took some abuse with no problems.

Couldn't tell you about all-pro since I have no experience with them.

 

Im looking at the Deluxe DK from stubbs.
Although im sure theres nothing wrong with Allpro sliders, you get what you pay for

 

Everyone I run with has Allpro, and no one has managed to put them up to something they cant handle. Got some buddies over here that are wild drivers and beat the hell out of their rigs. NOt saying Stubbs is bad, I just have not seen them on the trail out here being abused by my lunatic friends.

Let me just add, those HD SKOs look to be about the toughest thing on the market.

 

I had a set of Stubb's SLiders on my old '05 Tacoma. They were great, very well constructed and took all kind of abuse. Richard was a great guy to work with.

 

Stubbs HD-SKO are superior in every aspect to the production/sloppy built AllPros.

I actually have both to compare.

The welding, finishing, mounting/fitment and design with the HD-SKO's is something to really appreciate. The Allpro sliders are nice but quality is nowhere near as good.

Yes, Richard is the most genuine vendor/human that you'll ever deal with whether through email or phone. Send the same email to both Allpro and Stubbs and see what happens.

Unless your talking about the FJ sliders? The actual tubing for the 4runner/Tacoma is...
Allpro: 1.75" inner and 1.5" outer.
Stubbs: 1.75" both inner and outer.

Also,
Allpro has three legs.
Stubbs has four.

Allpros end caps are singled walled.
Stubbs are double walled.

There's more but I hope you get the idea. It's like comparing a Civic to an Accord.

If those are the only two choices I vote WabFab.

I'd take Stubbs over AP any day and twice on Sunday.

I had AllPro's on my FJ and were very happy with them. No quality problems with them at all. I will probably use the on my 4runner. Although, I will check out the stubbs as I've nerver seen their product.

 

never buy from all pro unless you want the worst customer service you will ever have

 

Thanks for all the opinions. I forgot about the Stubbs being double walled...even better they have 4 legs instead of 3. So I'm thinking I will just go ahead and pony up the extra dough for a set of HD SKO's. Probably worth it in the long run.

Oh, and the sliders for long bed Tacomas in Allpro 82" length are 1.75 inner 1.5 outer while the shorter ones for runners is indeed 2 inner and 1.75 outer. I confirmed this with their customer service...which by the way was very quick in replying to my email the same day several times.

Question though, what is the upward angle of the Stubbs HD SKO's?

 

I have All Pro sliders. They work and I have put them through A LOT of abuse.

However, they have bent up 3 times (Where we had to use a 6 foot prybar with 6 guys hanging on it to unbend so I could open my driver door)

I do like the All Pro Kick-out though. Don't know if Stubbs has a kick-out.

I will say All Pro does not have a very good reputation when it comes to customer service and IMHO THAT right there is worth the extra money...
