I posted about an intermittent loss of power. It was like the engine was missing and the CEL light was flashing. Seemed like a shorted wire to me. It would happen when I hit a bump, or revved the engine.

So... Get this..


it was a ground wire.


Wow.


The ground under the intake manifold had come loose. The bolt was still in place, but it was loose. Not even a lot loose, just enough, I guess.

The shorting had got so bad that it finally died on me while driving on I-25. Fortunately it limped to work (good ol 22Re) where I could have a look at it safely. I was going to look at it on the highway, but I just didn't feel safe on the roadside.
