Question Misty lookin' chrome rims

:pat: I originally bought my 1994 4runner sr5 from my uncle, and he had chrome American Racing rims on the truck, they were polished out, no blemishes. About 7 months ago, I wanted to clean the rims and I used Armor All chrome rim cleaner and sprayed it on. But, it left a light misty look on the rims. I've tried everything to bring the polish back, Black Magic rim polisher, Meguiar's...everything. THe mist is actually worse now. I would like to get the polish back, anybody know of any tricks to do this or are my rims done for? thanks for ANY help.

BiG MiKE

I got a pic of rims below vVv

You sure they are chrome and weren't polished aluminum? If they were uncoated polished aluminun, and you sprayed that crap on there, the only way to get them back is good old fashioned elbow grease with Mothers mag polish. Good luck!!

Talking best polish available

I had tried that MAG polish before and could not get the residue off but I went to Kragen today and I got Mother's "Incredible Billet Metal Polish"...this stuff works! I takes a little bit of time and work but I noticed the difference immediately! I've already done one rim and the residue is gone and the shine is back. I was sceptacle at first when it said that is "unconditionally guaranteed" to polish any metal but it worked. Thanks for the help guys, I hope this helps you all in return.

Cool. I'd also use a coat of car wax every few washings to keep the grime off and protect them:
