More broken IFS garbage

This weekend claimed the passenger side axle/cv stub.
Check it out

(good spare on left)

Luckily it looks like the lockright splines aren't damaged. Not sure how but it seems the stub came out about half an inch, rounded off the splines then cocked itself sideways. Thought I blew the hub when the right front wheel went dead until I looked under and saw gear oil leaking out and the stub sticking half way out and at a 45 degree angle. The c-clip was still on it and appears to be undamaged. The CV isn't broken or siezed either. I have to play nicer with my locked IFS.

Something else must have been seriously wrong for that to happen!

Well obviously there was a big gaping hole after the axle stub came out halfway as the seal wasn't touching anything anymore so there was nothing stopping water from coming in for the remainder of the day while I 3-legged it home.

What kind of snorkel are you running. Need one myself.

Axle slipping out? Looks like that's what caused the failure. Notice the teeth are sheered off the end. Maybe the c clip wore out letting the axle slide some and that sheered off the outer most teeth.

Oh well, that's wheeling.

Yeah that's what happened. At least I had a spare axle stub. Only gotta hold up another couple months until the SAS. I run an ARB snorkel with a Donaldson filter cap.
