So i'm thinking about replacing my exhuast from the muffler back. I'm not 100% but I think I wanna do a flowmaster maybe 40 series. I wanna do it myself and maybe have angled coming out the side or next to the trailer hitch. How hard would it be to do this. I can just use clamps to clamp the pieces together right? Can you also bring pipes to places and just have them bend the pipes? anybody know of any places that can do this?

 

you can probably have a muffler shop bend the piper for you and you can clamp it all together, but I would just take it in and have it welded up and have them do all the fitting and bending, don't think you would save that much doing it yourself! Just call around and get some prices!

 

what motor do you have, I have the 40 series on my 22re and it sounds really nice!

 

i have the 3vze, would it be alright to run the stock 2 1/8 inch pipe (i think) up until the muffler than run 2 1/4 after the muffler?

 

You could leave the stock 2 1/8" pipe if it ain't rusted out, thats what I'd do.. But 2 1/4" pipe is what most people use. FYI a Flowmaster is 90$ while a glasspack is 20$ a glasspack will ALWAYS outflow a flowmaster, and it will sound like a bumble bee in a tin can with a flowmaster .

-2 1/4" In/Out Thrush Glasspack W/ expandable ends ~30$
-Chrome Tip ~15$ (If Ya wanna get all fancy)
-2 Muffler Clamps ~15$

Get your sawzall out and chop your stock muffler off, measure from end to end how long of a glasspack you will need to fill the gap, if they don't have one short enough, cut some more pipe and bolt it in. DIY.

OR spend 250$ for a Flowmaster and 2 1/4" pipe and notice absolutley no difference other then your truck will sound like a Honda with a coffee can muffler and it will DRONE like hell on the freeway.
