98 4 runner, SR5, stock amp and cd player.

I removed the head unit and installed an aftermarket CD player. It worked great. I had to remove it and put the stocker back in. This was done and the radio will not turn on. I put the other HU in and it did not work either. I assumed I blew a fuse. I Checked under the hood and on the left side of the dash and every thing is fine. I get no codes on the radio (security). I'm clueless.

I have heard that there is some "other" fuse somewhere in there that I'm missing. Something about it being near or along the center console. Please help me. I have searched here and bought a Chiltons guide to the dang car all to no avail. Perhaps I wasn't searching the right thing...help.

 

About 15 min with a volt meter, and i figured it out. The stock Amp had a short in it. I was getting power at the wiring harness, plugged in the stock amp and i was no longer getting power through. Pulled the amp, Hooked up a new H/U and voila.

Just fyi, in case anyone else runs into this prob.
