acorn in my vent?

I recently picked up my 3rd gen 2000 4runner and ever since I got it, it had a slight vibration when I turned on my AC/heater fan. It would vibrate enough where I could feel it through the pedals.

I took my blower apart and there's a frickin' acorn in there.. I'm wondering how does something so big get in there? Aren't the intake vents by the windshield small enough to filter something like this out?

Anyhow, my blower was caked in dust so I scrubbed it and lysol'd it to freshen it up. Now I've got no vibration in the pedals nor a weird hum. Easiest maintenance I've done yet. Now onto the timing belt which needs to be taken care of.

My guess would be a kid. Young kid, my son could fit toys in places at home that defied the laws of physics when he was younger!

Well, mice can get in there and build nests (common problem), so I suspect they could also drag in something the size of an acorn.

huge rats can get into a hole the size of quarters, so something smaller then a huge rat could prollly get in there.
As for the acorn, you got me on that one

I have had all manner of things come out of my vents. Strangest yet was most of a pack of cigarettes. From Original owner I would guess.

Yeah you probably found a little winter stash for a rodent. It may help if you leave your vent closed while parked, I think they get in though an open vent while it is parked.
