I have a 99 4Runner SR5 2WD. The problem I'm experiencing is that at about 45mph and up my vehicle starts to "sway" side to side. If I let off the gas or accelerate, it stops. If I'm cruising down the road, it will not stop unless I let off the gas or step on the gas. The end link on the front sway bar looks worn while the rear ones look fine. Could the end links being worn cause that much of a problem? This isn't something that you have to pay attention to to notice. It's pretty "severe" for lack of a better word.
The vehicle is completely stock with exception to new rear shocks. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

yes, the alignment was done on it. That's what I thought at first. I only wish it was that simple man.

 

I would inspect both sides steering rack inner links and tie rod ends..If you havent done so I would put some poly rack buishings in the rack.

Other things to consider maybe a tire or steering u-joint in column.

sway bar buishings would not effect a wander going strait down the road,it would however effect sway when turning,long curves,ie.off ranps ect.

 

I had a Bronco with a bad tire and it would start swaying back and forth. Put some new tires and an alignment and it went away.

What am I looking for on the steering rack inner links and tie rod ends? Will I be able to see them being busted? I can wire almost anything and build engines, but when it comes to suspension, I know absolutely nothing.
