39s on toyota parts looking for opinions

i have been beating the living crap out of my 4runner on 37s and need to buy new tires due to the fact that two are bald and one has a hole that you could thow a basball threw from ten feet away

a freind of mine offered me a set of 39x15x15 tsls for a good price but am a little leary of running that wide of a tire on a toy drivtrain

right now i have
84 toyota axle
4.10 gears with a fill detroit and solid spacer
30 spline longs with chromoly hub gears

86 rear axle with 4.10s welded
stock shafts
gm disc breaks

if i got them i would upgrade the rear shafts and put arp knuckle studs in the front

what are some opinions

Lots of folks running 39.5 Iroks etc.

You will hate steering it w/o at least hydro assist.

if your worried about breaking you could always go fj80 axles with longs in them.

this is kind of off topic but how is 4.10's with 37's? i was lookingat a good price on some 37's but was worried about gears. mine isn't a DD just sees road to and from trail all within 20-30 miles. how is low with those gears?

I agree the steering is going to be the worst part. If you could move the front end forward an inch or two that will help. good BS wheels too will help cause 39's rub can rub the leafs.

I love the width of my 37x14 on 10 wheels with like 2.5BS I think i went with puts more stress on my parts I know but Wide is nice. Cant wait to run 39's myself

the 4.10s with 37s werent that bad i have to slip the clutch a little from a dead stop but i can cruze all day long on the freeway in 4th

and my front axle is allready moved 3.5in forward and im running 15x10 rockathons with 3-5/8 BS

i will probally get ram assist soon but for now i picked up a set of chromoly rear shafts and im going to order ARP studs for the knuckls and hubs as well as add a fith knucke stud kinda like how boby did his

how much overall lift are you running? i just found a set of 39.5 tsl's for 600 bucks that are almost new and was wondering if my 5" of lift and cut out body would fit them. My axle is 2" forward in the front too and i got a trailer so i dont have to worry about street issues too much just a little here and there. do you think i would have to move the front hanger farther forward?

I'm running the TG 4" kit F&R (probably more like 5" of lift total) on 39.5" Iroks. I cut a ton out of the rear quarterpanels and tubed the front firewall back several inches. Totally worth it to fit the big tires.

Hydro assist is a must I also upgraded my hub studs to ARP along with the knuckle studs.

Mine is 1.5" forward, 5" lift, 40s...TUB THE FIREWALL to the front cab bodymount and don't worry about it.

Whatever the 4" TG springs move you forward. Probably 2". Tubed the firewall back to the bodymount and haven't had them touch yet.
