Austins 85 chevy/toy truggy -pic heavy

HERE IT IS its finally time, for me to start the buildup of my actual trail rig.

so without further delay

Chevy 350, .030 over, 400 crank, 700 cfm carb. AKA 383 stroker.

THE PLANS (hopefully in order that they will occur)

-rebuild starter/get running
-remove bed+shorten frame
-framerail to framerail flatbed+relocate gas tank
-full exo-skeleton+frame reinforce
-tube+sheet narrow front clip
-TBI conversion+snorkle
-corp 14 bolt full floater rear axle
-dana 60 front axle
-spool rear, locker front, 5.38 gears
-R150 or chevy rockcrusher 4spd tranny swap
-3" lift springs
-move cab back and front axle forward +extend steering, et.
-maximum offset rims and REALLY BIG TIRES

Keep posted, this isnt going to be the fastest buildup in the world but its going to happen

this isnt just a vehicle for rock crawling. its going to be used for mobbin all types of terrain and mostly at very high speeds. if you see the way i treat my daily driver i really just need something to absolutely beat the crap out of.

the most work in this project is going to be the exo skeleton, but thats gona be one of the very first things to happen because i need it in order to have a front clip

quick pic of what ive got so far for the TBI, all i need now is the PCM and the unit with the injectors themselves.

gona pick up the 14 bolt tonight with a big block radiator and some other goodies, will post pics

apparently the stock 350 TBI uses like 48lb/hr injectors, i was originally concerned with its ability to supply the 383 but with that much flow it should be fine. hopefully the vehicle will be at least mobile within the next few days. its been kinda hectic around here as i have several customer vehicles which need to be done before i can get to any of my own

more more more parts

the rear end, its gona need a 4.56+ carrier to accomodate the gears ill be installing, or just a full spool of that size.

also borrowed the starter from my friends motor thats sitting at my house.

AND actually removed all of the wiring from the engine bay i was sick of looking at the mess and it will be much easier this way.

I Also got hoses and a big block 4 core radiator

the list for getting the motor running is short, hopefully ill have time to get to it tomorrow or the day after.

yeah its kinda a slow process right now, im busy with sooo many different things that im doing or helping friends with and im trying to get most of it done before i start class again at the end of the month, though this year all i have is a few loose end business courses to finish my AA so i will have mucho more time than i did last year thank god...

right now due to my limited time im just in the stage of get more more more more more parts, so that hopefully by the time im ready to get to work i have everything i need.

speeking of more parts also some headers for the small block, might need to do some re-bending for frame clearance but not a big issue.
