Help! window problems and its gunna be a rainy week!

Hi, I know this happens to a lot of toyotas. my window regulator is messed up. The window doesnt roll up or down. I was wondering what the vertical piece of metal that the window fits into is called. I know the horizontal piece is part of the regulator. anyway the vertical part is bent so the window always pops out of place. If I order a window regulator from parts train does the vertical piece come with it or is it seperate. I tried to describe it the best I could. Thank you, Please respond its raining and i got my jacket covering the window haha

Sorry, but the 'regulator' is purely the mech that drives the glass up and down. The vertical tracks or channels are separate pieces. I had a similar problem when i got my 91 truck back in 2001; I examined the vertical track and determined that if I simply moved it about 1/2 inch tighter to the glass, the window would crank up and down normally. So I drilled a new hole for the bottom bolt of the vertical track, relocated the track/channel/whatever they call it, bolted it, and it's worked fine ever since. The nice thing about manual windows is that it's not a very complex mechanism and usually with some patience they're easy to fix.

thanks keith, good thing i didnt order a regulator, does anyone know where I can find the vertical track/channel/ thing? Junkyards are out of the question, the yotas are always stripped clean. Or what is it called? maybe I could find it on a parts store on the net.

I have a pair of tracks (the ones towards the front of the door), I think.

Let me get a pic of them to make sure it's what you want. I have no use for them since my 4r has vents.

These are the two I have -- one for each door. I'm pretty sure these are the ones closest to the door hinge. I don't remember which is left and which is right.
