Hey guys, I have an idle problem with the 22-RE in my 91 pickup. When I start it up, the idle is normal(normal being higher idle during warm up) and then once the engine is warmed up the idle will pulse. It goes up to about 1500 rpm then back to idle over and over again. After I drive the truck around for about 5 minutes, the idle is fine. I have searched for similar problems but couldn't find one that really matched up to mine. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. Thanks!

 

check for vacum leak

 

check your coolant temp sensor (for the ecu, not the gauge on the dash), and your throttle position sensor.

 

Thanks for the input guys. I have just replaced the TPS and made sure it was adjusted correctly as shown in the fsm. Oh and the idle problem was there before I replaced the TPS, which leads me to believe I didn't create the problem by installing it wrong. I will pull the engine coolant sensor and see if it is giving a normal output. Any other suggestions or anyone with similar symptoms?
