So....I guess I figured I'd just remember where everything went when I took the dash apart....Where does this attach to?

I think that attaches right over your heater controls so you can see them at night. The older '79 to '83 trucks did not have the light built into the heater controls.

 

89dlx is correct, I believe mine is attached into the actual foam dash part, but no guarantee if thats original.

 

Ok. My dash pad is off right now, so maybe that's why I can't for the life of me see anywhere to attach it!! Thanks a lot, I'll check that. Annoying how when I'm taking it apart it all makes so much sense that I figure there's no way I wouldn't know how it goes back together...

 

Well I figured out why it doesn't make sense. The new dash and cover plate for the heater controls that I got is set up just a bit differently, and it doesn't have anywhere to screw that thing in. I'm going to cut that area out of this new one and glue my old one in so there's somewhere to attach it.
