Has anyone tried this motor?

Has anyone tried this motor?
I saw this on ebay for $1650 shipped. It's all new parts including the block, with no core. Sounds too good to be true. I called the guy and he says the motor is "assembled" in California, and that the parts are ordered from all over the world. I couldn't pin him down on what comes from where.
My head gasket went and at 186K I've decided on a rebuild ($1100 if the block, head, and crank are rebuildable), but a NEW motor for $1650 seems the way to go if it is any good. Has anyone tried one of these? I'm afraid it might be some Chinese piece of crap.

I just called them again and the warranty is 12/12,000. I talked to a different guy this time, and he said that they changed the original 22re blueprints to address the weak points in the head and block. He said that they went to China to hire a company to do the manufacturing. Supposedly the company makes Pruis heads for Toyota. He also claims that they only have a .5% return rate on the motors.
The local rebuild will come with a 3/50,000 warranty. And, I won't have to ship the motor to California.

I found another forum that this company sponsers (ttora) and they post thier url and phone number whenever someone makes a post about motor troubles, but the people over there seem to be ignoring them.
Due to the fact that these guys are so unknown, I think I'm going to have to pass on the motor and just have the work done locally.

I am having trouble locating that on his site. I tried calling him @ (503) 257-7947, but the call wouldn't go through.
Is this just an RV cam or something? My machine shop will sell me parts for barely over cost (a NEW bare head would only be $189), so I may be able to get a better deal through him without waiting.
Is a cam the usual upgrade?

A cam is a great start but porting and polishing are also very good. Bigger valves will make a difference but you have to remember what goes in must come out so headers and exaust have to be on the list.
