Information About Radiators

My 86 truck radiator has cracks all across the top tank so I went down to the radiator shop and they estimated 150.00 out the door for a new tank and repair. So I went to autozone and they wanted about 147.00 out the door for a new one, so I went ahead and ordered the large 432041 radiator that I had heard about and to my surprize when I opened the box it is no longer brass and copper but plastic and aluminum. Then I did some checking and found out the transpro the people that used to make c/b radiators merged with proliance and now make ready-rad and modine radiators which are both plastic tank and aluminum core. Also the 432041 radiator is a one row even though it is bigger then stock but they list the smaller 433198 as a 3 row. They also say the 432041 (1 row) is for 4wd models and the 433198(3 row) is for 2wd. I'm going to run it since I have a lifetime warrenty and when (not if) it breaks I can just keep getting new ones. I'm posting this to let people know so they dont end up with something they dont want. My 85 radiator is also leaking so I think a aluminum radiator from ebay is going in that one. One last thing autozone now list the radiator for $279.99 yesterday it was $135.99 so I printed out the page from my history and took it in and the guy price matched it for me. That is another reason I'm keeping it no way am I going to pay $279.99. Here is the new proliance, ready-rad, modine website, if you want to look at the radiators or part numbers just go to online catalog
