What are your thoughts on the Pro Comp Mud Terrain tires?

not too sure about the pro comp tires...but what i have heard is that they are pretty good in general...the wheels would be great..if your talkin about the rock crawlers...they are great rims...im wanting a set myself...but if your looking for good mud performance....then go with swampers..i've never heard of any tire even coming close to touching the swampers performance off road...now on road...thats a different story...i imagine my swampers only got like...3,000 or 4,000 miles on them..and got over 80% tread left..and are unbeatable in the mud..

 

Pro craps are great if you own a Jeep or like holes in your tires!

 

Try doing a search for these...this has been discussed a ton.

There are diehard Pro Crap people and then there are those that hate them. It all depends on what you want them for.

Haven't personally had experience but my buddy had procomp 35's on his z71 and he said he would never buy anything procomp again. His dad was the one who bought him the tires and his dad said he wouldn't even shop at 4wheelparts again because they told him that they were the best tire he could buy.

 

Which black spoke wheels?

Okay I have been looking around and think im going to try and get some Super Swamper LTB's 34-10.50-15's
They look mean!

But now that im going with a 10.5 wide tire and not the 12.5 I may just put them on the stock steel wheels off this truck. Cleaning them up and spraying them black as well.

LTBs are a bad ass tire.....I would really consider running them if they came in decent sizes...good choice

 

I had pro comps mud T/As on a jeep I didnt have any problems on road with them they wore good and did good in the woods. Never did any hardcore mashing on them tho... I am a BFG man so they didnt compare to BFGs.
I had the bias ply TSLs swampers on a 3/4 ton longbed chevy, when i left it parked for a day or so i would have to park in the grass so the flat spots werent so bad. If i arked in the driveway on a cold night the next day it would bounce you to death till they got warm. I could see them wear down when i drove back home down the interstate trying to go hunting and stuff.

I just got a call today around noon. A buddy of mine has some cooper 33's that he will sell me for $125 (all 4). Says they have an "aggressive tread" look to them with more then 50% tread. Hope they are the STT's...at least they will look better then just a radial. I need some just to get by. The tires on my truck now are so dry rotted that I cant belive they are holding air!

But the LTB's are still on my things to get list...soon! Just need to come up with the cash for them is all.

 

The coopers are a pretty good tire too...I've ran them as well

 

Saw another Pro comp tire on the trail last week......seems to be a common occurence.....what a waste of money...every pro comp tire i have ever seen ends up like this

 

I have had nothing but the best experiance with my Pro Comp Xterrains. It must be a Mud terrain problem. Cause i ran the Rubicon with them. The only other tire i will ever spend money on is the Nitto Mud Grapplers. No other tire will grace my truck. But it is all about how one drives.

 

I have never ever ever seen a set of mud grapplers on the trails....weird...

seen em on tons of street trucks and jeeps though....

 

Seems when I was researching for mud tires the procomps m/t had weak side walls. Which dirtboy pics clearly show. I've read and seen that LTB's dig into snow which is a problem in deep snow.

I got Firestone destination M/T, stronger sidewall over BFG and Procomp M/T's. Deep treads and sidewall lugs. I've even run them down to 5-8psi with no problems. Reveiws claimed decent tread life. But they don't seem to be the popular choice.

POPPED the side wall in two procomp mudder so far. 4WHEELPARTS SHOULD MARKET THESE TO MALL CRAWLERS ONLY!!!...should have done my home work oh well learn from me, if you wheel on any thing more than sawdust stay away from these.
