4R OEM Suspension height change: 98-99-00+?

I remember reading somewhere(here, maybe?) that Toyota lowered the suspension height somewhere in the 99-2000-2001 model years...maybe they got scared from some consumer magazine rollover test...Can anyone confirm this or point me to a source to confirm this? I'm thinking of buying a 2000 4Runner but I'm not sure I want to deal with it if it's been 'lowered' by T. thanks.

Most '99 4Runners have rear springs that are 1 inch taller than the previous models and in '00 Toyota changed it back to the regular hight of the older models IIRC. It's not actually "lowered", it'll just be at the regular height
