Thumbs down coil or ignitor??

Hello there, I have a 1993 toyo 4x4 with the 2.4 4 cyl engine. My problem is when going down the road, and this has started to happen alot more is, my Tach needle starts to wander about, truck starts to miss, and my temp. gage starts to move back and forth. I know it is a short somewhere The tach, which is stock runs off the coil, I think. and the coil and ignitor are next to each other so, should i just replace both, just not sure what else to do, as they seem to go together. Thanks for any help in this..............

hows the battery? Does the truck start up good? When my alternator in my motorhome went out it did the same thing when the battery would die going down the road.

Check to make sure your body is grounded directly to your battery. I had my short ground wire from the battery to the body break and it gave me some similar problems.

Definitely start dong some testing before you just start replacing parts. yeah, start with your grounds, I had similar problems on my truck a couple years ago, it was the grounds. you just start repacing parts and you'll spent some bucks and still have the problem.
