Cluster connector for speedo?

Are all connectors the same between gens, engines, driveline? Mine looks smaller and the one I got on a used cluster looks like the one in the pic below? Does that bigger outer part come off? NEVER MIND I GOT IT OFF! LOL

Are you saying that the LARGE plastic piece, where the cable goes into the cluster, comes off? WOW! I've had this 4Rnr cluster sitting around for months, thinking that there was an incompatibility between speedometer cables.

How did you pry it off?

If you look in the slots on both sides towards the bottom, there are tabs that lock into a groove. I just took a really small screwdriver and pryed the tabs out and the outer shell came off.
Here you can see the groove.
