Stereo Wiring Harness - Some leftover wires..

Couldn't find an exact answer by searching.

On the stereo side (Pioneer DEH4600MP) I have a blue/white cable left.. and on the toyota harness side I have a straight blue, and an orange/black and orange/white leftover:

Does the blue/white go to the blue? Will that hurt anything?

Bueller?

I've been sitting home here for like 2.5 hours now with a wiring harness and new stereo ready to install!!

Just need a little reassurance that's all..

I think the blue/white is for an amp or power ant. and the orange/black and orange/white are for illumination.

I could be wrong, check this site to find some additional info: http://www.the12volt.com/Default.asp?

The blue/white is remote amp lead. THe orange white is illumination. and not sure about the orange/black, might call pioneer on that one.

Unless you have an amp you are good to go. From what I can tell you have the 12v, accessory, ground and all your speakers connected correctly. Just tape off the loose wires to avoid a short and plug that bad boy in. I think I had the same wires leftover and I just installed the deh5500.

Okay.. installed and working. Only thing is that my power antenna won't go up anymore when the stereo is powered on.

from another yotatech thread

The blue loop allows you to connect stereos that only have one blue color lead easily.

The car end connector has a connection for the antenna and one for amp turn-on. The wiring harness' with a loop connect the two together so the installer doesn't have to remember to tie the amp turn-on and the antenna wires together.

The blue/white wire from the pioneer unit should be connected to the blue "loop" wire on the factory harness.

Dude, lose the crimp connectors and do it right with solder and shrink tube.

Second, the reason your power antenna isn't going up is because you need to hook the blue/white lead to your power antenna relay.

If you need wiring diagrams for your truck, I suggest coughing up the 10 bucks and getting an account to https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfo....toyota.com%2F and downloading pdf files to your heart's content.

Yep, blue/white and the blue need to be connected to get that antennae to go up and down bro. Fix that and you're good.

Whatever you do, do NOT hook up the orange/white wire.

blue/white out of the pioneer harness is amp remote, but for your case it will work as an antenna remote. connect it to the blue of the adaptor harness.

the orange/white is illumination, it turns on and off with your lights, cap that off as it looks like your pioneer doesnt have an illumination circuit. some aftermarket decks do, and therefore I would leave it, just cap it for possible future use.

the orange/black is illumination ground, there is no aftermarket stereo in this universe that uses that wire, go ahead and yank that sumbitch right out of the adaptor harness altogether (or cap it off if you choose)
