i've called the guy already and got a hold on them with my offering of $200!!! what size of tires would i need for these? i don't offroad at all ... my runner is a pavement one. thankx in advance for advice!

 

i think there 17s not 18s and im almost 100% sure they will fit as ive seen them on other trucks and 4runners

 

i was just thinking about that (18's really were 17's). and these are off a tundra so would they be 18"? what size of tire would i need to keep the same stock profile if they were 17" or 18"? 285/60/17 -- 285/55/18??

 

pretty sure thy're 17s. are they 7, 7.5 or 8 wide? what is the offset? i've seen those on 3rd gens (i think) but don't know if they were running spacers. never seen em on 2nd gens.

 

I don't believe they made those wheels in an 18" so they are most likely 17". They will fit fine, but they have slightly more backspacing (roughly .25" I believe so they will be a little tucked in. You should be able to run a 265/65/r17 which would be really close to stock profile, or a 265/70/r17 which would be one size up and shouldn't cause you any trouble. You may also be able to find something like a 275/65 but I wouldn't go any wider than a 275 series or you will most likely rub on the a-arms.

yeah, i have those on my 98 runner. U can fit a 265-70-17 fine, but if you try to go 285's, they'll rub the upper a arm.

THANKX! for all the replys ... i'm taking your word for it that they're 17" but I'm going to call the guy again today. does any1 know if these rims are heavier or pretty much the same weight than the stock double 3-spoke? looks like i'm going to shop round for some 275/65/17 ... i wonder if that'll look weird, like buldging at the ground

so i e-mailed the guy with the wheels asking about the true size of the tundra wheels, here's his reply --
"The rims are actually 18 and a half inch. With hubcaps, the cost goes way up. Some paint
is pealing." --
so 18.5"? wtf idk about the wheels but thats odd. what do you guys think?

 

He measured outer edge to outer edge...which is NOT the way rims are measured. Tell him to measure the inner mounting bead surface on the rim, he will come up with 17"

 

Those Sequoia/Tundra rims are 17"...Toyota never offered them in 18". For $200 thats a steal depending on condition. I've watched them sell on ebay a few times for $400~

I purchased my 4runner with Sequoia rims and 265/65/17 street tires which to me "looked" too small but were equal to the stock size 16" tire.
Later upgraded to 265/70/17 TG AT's that were 1" taller and they looked MUCH nicer. I did notice some minor power loss but nothing really worth mentioning unless your picky. I do (did) have '99 springs so rubbing wasn't an issue.

IMO making a 17" wheel look decent on a stock 3rd gen requires a larger and/or aggressive tire.

I had them on my 98 Limited. They were from an 05 Tundra. I think they do look pretty good on the 4Runner. The stock 265/65/17 Dunflops were not that great, even on-road (rain). Upgraded to 265/70/17 REVO's and they were awesome. You can usually find people selling them with tires for ~$400-500 around my area.

they're not that bad in shape and the dirt or whatever that is on the inner looks like it can be cleaned out. comes with no hub caps but i've got another set of caps from my stock rims ... would those fit these tundra's/seqouia rims?

cackalak- those 70 profile looks awesome! fills up the wheel well pretty good. no rubbing at all? and you said your runner is stock right?

i'm still shopping for tires for these rims and i've got it down to 275/65/17, but would 275/70/17 rub? or does that increase of 5 from 65 to 70 profile going to effect the mpg?
and last but not least, whats the pros/cons with going bigger than 65 profile? i don't offroad or anything, just pavement and roadkill haha

 

Yeah, it was 100% stock. There was very very slight rubbing at full lock and compression, but other than that, it was good to go. And yes, I went from 21MPG on the freeway to 18-19MPG when I went from 265/65 to 265/70.

They're called center caps. Hubcaps come on those steel wheels. I don't know if they will fit or not. I would say no, but you could just pop one of yours out and take it with you to see.
