Could this cause an oil leak?

I just rebuilt the engine and replaced the clutch. Getting everything sorted out and notice what sounds like a vacuum leak. It is coming from the little vacuum motors? I removed the small filters and capped the fittings. Drove down the road, pulled back into the garage to check my timing to find a puddle of oil! Looks like it may be coming from the rear main. Did capping these off cause this? This truck is starting to tick me off! 22re by the way. I hate to think that now I have to pull the trannie after all the work I have already done.

check the back of the valve cover for leaks if you haven't already. did you put any sealant around the half-round rubber seals at the front and back of the valve cover / head?

I found the problem.Seems I over filled it with oil and it puked it out the rear main. How many miles does it take to break one of these little engines in? I have only put 50 miles or so on it. Engnbldr head, bored .030 over, everything new in engine. Also 261c camshaft. Not really impressed with the power so far,but it isnt broken in yet, still trying to find what it likes timing wise.
