Gun Rack for Pickups w/ Beer Windows?

Ok, I'm trying to figure out somewhere to mount a shotgun or two (or maybe my bow) in my 84 single cab.

It has a beer window, and I love to drive with it open (for obvious reasons), so I don't think the standard rear window gun rack will work...

So, what have yall worked out? And don't say get a handgun cause I already have many, have my CHL, and carry one everywhere I go. This is for hunting purposes

You know I was just thinking the same thing the other day... Lol

But you know, it's kinda hard to drive and shoot a turret located on top of the truck all at the same time. Some might say get a friend to drive or shoot, but I'm still stuck on the army of one thing. Pfft who needs battle buddies.

Well I do have a Armalite AR-50 that could be used, but I always figured turrets were more for bullet squirters like an M2 or something.

And if my AR-50 couldn't fit in the cab of my dodge (59.5" overall length, 34lbs empty), I HIGHLY doubt it'll fit inside the yoter lol...

I really want to make a side mount atv style rack. Jump out and grab and shoot (can't wait for fall). Mabye a rear mount behind the window like a back rack?

That back rack idea would be great for extended cabs. Probably wouldn't work for us single cab guys though...

I bought one from Cabelas that holds two rifles (or shotguns) vertically. It has a plate permanently mounted to the tranny hump (only works with an auto tranny) and the actual part that holds the weapons is removable.

Cabellas has a nice one that mounts to the ceiling.. Guns are up out of the way but easy to get to.

hang em from inside the cab roof. some flat bar running side to side and some more bent into j-hooks hanging down so the guns are overhead and pointed front to back
kind of an inverted interior roof rack

I am, but I don't sit in the middle of the truck. so maybe the guns will run parallel to the transmission tunnel.

and shut up and go finish your engine!!!

I have a 3 gun rack that fit behind the seat pretty well. The seat had to be slid forward to carry 3 guns but i mostly carried only 2...

It was similar to this mounted with self tapping screws on each end
