Is my truck from Canada???
I am probably going to get flamed for this but I was wondering if someone could tell me if my truck is from Canada.
The reason I am asking is because I am looking for a replacement gas tank for my 1985 Toyota Truck Xtra Cab 4x4. I went to http://www.tanks-to-pans.com/site/823208/page/308600
It told me to find my RN #. I went to my truck and it says it is a RN65. I looked at the tanks and the only US tank is for the 22R. I have a 22RE in my truck. The one for the 22RE state that it is Canada only. I don't think the previous owner had a motor swap done cause, if I recall correctly, the SR5 came EFI.
Can someone tell me whats going on???

Does it say warshington? or does it mis pronounce roof? if so then it is American and not Canadian. We dont say EH all the time like you american ******* would like to believe.
As for weither or not it is Canadian...just either look on the inside of the door for the label or on the flip side of the hood and it should say meets Canadian standards or american standards.

I hate to be so blunt, but mine says "Made in Japan" on the VIN# tag on the fire wall. I believe yours will say "Made in Canada" or "Made in United States" or even "Made in Japan" on it. In '85, I didn't think they made them anywhere but Japan. But I could be wrong.
Take a look at the tag on the fire wall.

I think your question is more likely to be: made FOR Canada vs. made FOR US.
All the trucks were made in Japan.....BUT I seem to remember that at some points trucks were being imported to the US or Canada (can't remember for sure which, but I think it was the US) without the box in order to avoid a levy.
Therefore the box on US spec vs Canadian spec trucks may be different. That is the only reason I can think of why the tanks would be different.
The label on my truck (a 1990) says something to the effect of "complies with all Canadian requirements at date of manufacture". So my truck is Canadian specification. Your labels should have some indication as well, as said by others above.

All Canadian trucks that I have seen have the Km/h on the out side of the speedometer and the miles per hour on the inside. At some point they all had daytime running lights well before it was required in the US(like the late 80's or early 90's)
