Oil pan gasket leaking?

Hey guys, tonight i went out to put on my newly painted skid plate... and what do i find? oil all over. so i start by checking my oil level, which is barely on the dipstick. so i go fill it with oil. wipe down the mess underneath and start the truck. now being so busy lately i havent checked my oil since my motor swap, which was about 1500kms ago. luckily i checked underneath today. when i started the truck, i didnt see any visible "drops" that were forming. but the majority of the wetness is at the oil pan gasket and pretty much on one side, the passenger side, and one spot higher is a bit wet also, right near the water pump, but i think that that could be from the fan and wind pushing it around. today i did a 300km trip and had no problems what so ever, good oil pressure, and no visible leaks on the ground from what i can remember. so must be the oil pan gasket??

ive only lost about 1 litre of oil in about 1500kms. so its a fairly slow leak, but i havent been under my truck since the motor swap. what do u guys think? thanks for input.

Get some engine degreaser and clean your engine as well as you can, then make it a point to check for oil leaks and you should be able to see any wet spots.

I have read a couple of writeups on replacing the oil pan gasket - and mine is leaking even slower than yours. I check my oil probably about twice a week, and rarely have to add any. The gasket seems to be more trouble than it's worth if its leaking like you describe. It's a pretty ridiculous install for what it should be. I would just make sure your oil level is good every once in a while.
