missing vacuum line plz help

Hello, was checkin up under the hood of my new 82 4x4, with the 22r of course, and i noticed this thingy missing a vacuum line. looked it up and i think its called a dash pot, supposedly opens up when you let off the gas to help fuel air mixture and make your car not cut throttle hellov hard. anyways if thats what it is, it just has a check valve and then an air filter on it, but noone at any auto shop knows wtf im talkin about and tell me it should plug into the intake somewhere. i need to get it smogged so plz help me out!

hope that pic worked, first ever photobucket to forum copy and paste over here lol.
thanks.

Kinda looks like an EGR valve to me. I believe the left side of the carb is where the EGR resides as well.

X2... Looks like the EGR modulator. Can you get a better pic?

That is your idle-up diaphragm. The missing vacuum line goes to a vacuum switch located on the passenger side wheel well inside the engine compartment (located near battery if you have battery in stock location).
The switch has "vacuum" printed on the top, has some electrical connections, has a small round cylinder attached to one end, and some of the connections are blue. Hope this helps.
