bro, if you live with him, and if the trucks in his name, id listen to him. i know if i thought something, i dont care how much 'convincing' my son did, the answer would be no. and if ur in high school, you dont needa be doin that stuff anyway, you need to be concentratin on graduatin so you dont have to say 'you want fries with that? ' or 'welcome to walmart' every day. save your cash for the gas and girls brotha

Try to convince him to do a SAS for ya.

You'll be fine with spacers, and a good t bar crank, maybe some BJ spacers. get some 33's and you'll hardly miss the 3 inch lift. Maybe do that, and a small body lift.

BTW, did he say that 3" of lift in general is too much, or was he talking about the nearly $1000 price tag?

I wouldn't even waste my time with anything less than at least a 3" lift.

Here's my truck with 3" body lift and 32x11.50's. It would have fit 33x12.50 but I never got around to upgrading. I think I paid about $120 for the lift and put it on myself about 12 years ago.

Sutsch, If you want more lift, first take off your runningboards. Those will make so much of a difference, and they are only bolted on. You could take it off yourself...

After that, you may want to correct your "butt sag". That would put some 1.5-2'' springs in the back to level things out. And if you really want to, crank your torsion bar in the front to get maybe an inch more in front (don't go too high, just a little).

Good springs can run high.

Both my boys will drive lifted trucks when the time comes so I hope to be a cool dad.

We have lifts for your truck on the website.

Good luck with your step dad but it sounds as if you are fighting a losing battle. From my experience, spend your money on yourself while you are young and do not waste it on girls. You have plenty of time to find a woman to spend it for you.

I had the same problem with my dad but we compromised on this setup...

In the rear I'm running Downey HD coils and up front 26mm torsion bars, cranked. It was a pretty inexpensive way to go, compared to buying a complete kit or something, and 33x10.5” fit awesome too. Here's a link to their website, Downey Offroad
